Waiting

Lost

I saw you beautiful, rest and peace.

You are solace and hope for me.

Sleeping, naked arms, for I knew you

And we sang together our holy song

Not here to be alone but now dancing

And I do not find sin here except in this silence

That you are gone and your voice still

And the music played out and the wind howling

My keening for a storm took you

These sands of your desert

These blizzards of my mountain

What then is left without your radiant face?

Or the warmth of your heart.

I am grey in the cold room I am silent forever

I am no one and nothing,  here is the tomb.
